gobble gobble, 2009

On Wednesday, we had to take Natalie to the doctor, who told us she had hand, foot and mouth disease...yuck! Not a fun way to start the Thanksgiving holiday...

She enjoyed some popsicles on Thanksgiving day (her mouth was hurting)! We weren't able to go to LaGrange, and we missed our LaGrange family so much. We did have a yummy dinner at the Sprinkles house and enjoyed some turkey and fixings!

On Friday, Gam and Pappy came up to see my punkin and brought her an early birthday present! She is loving her new kitchen and dishes!

On Saturday, we headed to a Christmas tree farm to find our tree!

Another family picture with Santa!

This one!

Watching the ducks!

Petting the horsie, Poppyseed!

Hayride with daddy!

Helping daddy with the lights...

We had a nice, relaxing thanksgiving...the holiday weekend went by too fast and now it's back to the old grind. I am really having to pump myself up to get back to work tomorrow, and I'm dreading it...but I hope that I'll be okay once I get there!

I hope everyone had sweet moments with their families over thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to you!! I'm very grateful for the beautiful blessings of family, friends and faith in my life.

fantasy in [cold, drizzly, but beautiful] lights

the sprinkle fam after a long, wet walk!

sunday night was a wonderful night! what a great start to the thanksgiving/Christmas season...

gam and pappy invited us to walk through fantasy in lights for the annual march of dimes walk...a five mile walk through the beautiful callaway gardens fantasy in lights display. gam packed us all little picnic baskets full of sandwiches and goodies, and we were on our way to pine mountain. the cold, rainy weather didn't stop us, and we made it through in record time with natalie's jogging stroller!! natalie was mesmerized...she truly loved the lights and didn't care for a second that she was cold. it was so nice to be with family and to listen to the songs of the season. we finished up the night in the little tent at the end of the course, where natalie was surprised to meet rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and santa! she loved santa this year!!

walking through the lights got me in the spirit to focus on the "Light of the world"...i am going to try NOT to get stressed by the birthday party details, present buying, house cleaning, card sending and decorating tasks of this time of year. instead, it will be my aim to focus on "the true Light that gives light to every man" (John 1:9)

hope everyone has a Bright and happy thanksgiving...

st. mark's

St. Mark's is a special little place. My sister and I spent our preschool years there, and it is such a neat little school. We took Natalie up to the playground there on the beautiful day that was Sunday afternoon. So much has changed, but a lot is still the same. Same big climbing tree...same back steps. Some of the same playground equipment...Natalie had a great time playing and running around and we captured a few good moments of the afternoon in pictures...

Oh, and I got to see my precious niece on Sunday. I was so excited to see that little cutie pie and had to share a pic of her here as well!...sweet Molly...
